NEWSLETTER   DEADLINE - March 11th.

The "No School Day" listed in the March calendar is incorrect.  There will be school that day. The day has been moved to May 12th.  It 's a Supt. Conference Day.

MISSIONS – FEBRUARY OFFERING

HAITI DISASTER:   Year to date OGHS Haiti $3,080.
AMERICA FOR CHRIST: Year to date $1,495.

Secretary’s work schedule for the month of March will be Wed. & Thurs. 9am – 2pm, with the exception of the last week, which will be Tues., Wed., and Thurs. 9am – 2pm.

NEEDED:  both adults and teens to train on the operation of the media equipment which controls sound and radio recording.   See Pastor Reed or Mary Pisaniello.

NEW MEMBERS & BAPTISM:  A Baptism Service is scheduled for Sunday, March 21st.  Due to Easter, Communion is being moved from April 4th to Palm Sunday, March 28th.  At this time those baptized on March 21st (and any others joining by other means) would be received into membership of the church.   Because the candidating weekend for a new pastor is scheduled for April 17 & 18, this would be the last opportunity for people to join and still be able to vote on the selection of a new pastor.  (Because the Pastor is an officer and CEO of the church corporation, only certified voting members may vote on his call, and election to office.)  If you desire baptism and/or church membership, please see Pastor Reed immediately.  Those who confess Jesus as Savior and Lord and who have attended the church for approximately six months or more are eligible to join as members of the church.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Brook Haven House, Inc. banquet and silent auction will be held on Friday, April 23rd beginning at 6:30 p.m. at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 22791 County Route 42, Carthage (East of the Hospital).  Tickets are $20.00 each, and can be purchased from any director, or call the home, 493-1735.

OFFICE HOURS:   Except for holidays, the church offices are open most weekdays.  Pastor Reed is usually in Monday through Friday from 7:30am until 3:30pm.  The church secretary works Wednesday through Friday from 9am until 2pm.  Church bulletins are printed first thing Friday morning so all information including prayer requests should be in by Thursday.  Because this is a church office and we are involved in ministry, these hours will include meetings, appointments, visitation, occasional days away and any number of other things that will work to change availability, so if you need to see Pastor Reed it is suggested that you call ahead to check availability.

NOTE FROM THE PASTOR: Lewis County General Hospital has
changed its procedures on admissions and clergy visits.  Clergy are no longer given the general listing but only those pertaining to their church.  Therefore, it is important that you list yourself as "baptist" when admitted and, if asked, say you would like a clergy visit.  If you list yourself as "protestant" or "Christian", I probably will not know that you are there, even if I go up to see others; nor does the hospital automatically notify clergy.  If you wish a visit from the Pastor; it is best to have someone call, call yourself, or ask the desk to notify me.

GET IN THE PICTURE:  Want to know someone’s name????  Maybe they want to know yours!  Help all of us know one another.  Carol Reed will take your picture and post it on the bulletin board so we can all put names and faces together.  Help us help you.  Get your picture taken today!  It doesn’t work unless we all participate.

BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR – the Dollar General opens at 9AM on Sunday.  Please do not park in their side of the lot.  If you have no trouble walking please use the bank lots, fire station, etc., leaving the church lot for those who do have trouble walking & for visitors.  Thank you.
