The Lowville Baptist Church is pleased to announce that the featured performer at their Sept. 9, 2011 Open Gate Coffee House will be Pete Rose from Holland Patent, New York.
Held in the church fellowship hall located at 7627 North State Street in the Village of Lowville, the coffee house begins at 7pm and concludes by 9pm. The public is welcome and there is no admission charge. A free-will offering is received for the expenses of the performing artist. A typical program features a 40-50 minute set of songs with a 20 minute intermission for complimentary refreshments. The intermission is followed with a second 40-50 minute set.
Pete Rose’s specialty is Country Music. He writes: “My wife, Anna and I live and have raised three beautiful children in Central New York. We are the proud grandparents of a little girl and boy. When my children were young, I made the choice to give up my singing/songwriting career in order to devote my time to raising my family. Although our children are now grown, they are still very much a part of our lives; a fact which I feel is a direct result of my earlier decision. Family and their relationships are very important in my life. I feel that’s what makes life so rewarding, as well as hard at times…The songs I write are from my heart and life experiences; the ups and downs we all go through. … When I perform my regular music, it’s for fun and entertainment. Though the words in most of my songs have meaning and I might convey a message or share my experiences of what has happened to me or to someone I‘ve known, it’s still just a song that I’m singing. It’s totally different when I sing my Christian music. Sometimes I literally get lost in the song because I’m not performing. I’m singing and praising the Lord and all he is and means to me. I sing that type of music in hopes that it may touch someone’s’ heart and bring comfort and/or joy to them. I try to reach out with words, in hopes that it helps the people who are searching for Jesus Christ, to take that step, to give Jesus a chance to work in their lives.”
We invite you to come and join your friends for an evening of fun and inspiration.
